If you are taking an Aptis test, it is important that you become familiar with the format and the different types of tasks so that you can get the best performance on the day of the exam. 

How long does it take to complete the Aptis test?

The total duration of the Aptis test depends on the components you are taking. The maximum time allowed for each component for the overall Aptis test is as follows:

  • Grammar and vocabulary: 25 minutes
  • Speaking: 12 minutes
  • Writing: 50 minutes
  • Reading: 35 minutes
  • Listening: 40 minutes

The time-frames of some components may be different if you are taking a variant of the test such as Aptis Advanced, Aptis for Teachers or Aptis for Teens. Please see the pages for each component for more information.
