The British Council Mexico's Creative Leadership Programme aims to support the development of cultural and creative leaders by building professional skills and approaches to governance.

We invite proposals from UK-based suppliers to curate, coordinate and deliver five online sessions and a one-week residency programme in the UK focused on cultural governance and creative leadership. This initiative is scheduled to take place between August to October 2024. It aims to empower 10 Mexican creative leaders to develop innovative governance proposals through engaging talks, workshops, and discussions on cultural leadership and governance.

The participating 10 Mexican cultural leaders will be recruited through an open call run by the British Council Mexico, and this one-week residency programme will run from late October to November 2024. The core objectives are to support the selected Mexican leaders to:

  • Enhance participants' understanding of effective governance principles within creative organizations.
  • Apply principles or/and models of cultural governance to their own projects or organisations, improving the resilience and sustainability of the institutions they lead.
  • Identify and strengthen their cultural leadership skills.
  • Analyse real cases of the participants considering the context of Mexican organisations.
  • Provide access to a global network consisting of UK and Mexican creative and cultural practitioners.
